So because of this, they act very much like the Doctor for this episode, seeking out the best 'humans' to help, and acting very unMasterlike, but very Doctorlike, because it serves their higher purpose for when they're dumped on this planet 50 years later.īonus points, as I said, Missy has baggage, as she is dealing with Simm despite memories of their previous encounter.īonus points, the Doctor drops in somewhere in this to not be too involved, but to be there and comment on how they've handled this greater purpose, despite their motivations. And because they realise this is a planet they will in their future end up on, and be rescued from, and it's in their interests to save it. They arrive on a planet, and it's under threat.
Now, Constant Readers, it's tough to reconcile these two together again based on what we know, but here it is.Īs a multi-Master episode, Simm has no ability to retain memories of Missy, so again he meets her for the first time (and he will forget her after again), and for Missy it's close to directly after The Doctor Falls. The episode can start and finish with the Doctor in a vignette, but the camera quickly pans to Two Masters: John Simm and Missy.
